Shiatsu is a gentle form of hands-on therapy. It is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine & uses the same pressure points & Meridians (lines of energy) as Acupucture. It uses the 5 Element diagnosis system, an Eastern, holistic form of understanding the body, mind & spirit.
Shiatsu also uses touch as a form of diagnosis, the practioner follows what they feel, or what they pick up, as they move around the body. Shiatsu is always tailored to that client, on that day, so every treatment is different. It can be a quiet & holding treatment &, when appropriate, it can be a more physical & energetic treatment.
Because of its approach Shiatsu is a very supportive therapy & can help with well-being & energy levels. It meets the client how & where they want to be met, it can meet them on a physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual level. Shiatsu works to balance the energy in the body, when there is balance there can be relief from symptoms & a sense of wellness.
I am offering tasters at an event on Sunday – a good opportunity to try this relaxing yet energising therapy out. The event is in Broadclyst, near Exeter, from 10.30 till 4.30. More details can be found on my Facebook page.
Valentine’s Day is nearly on us. I am offering 10% off gift vouchers purchased before the 14th February, for a Valentine. These vouchers can be used for Shiatsu or Natural Face Lift Massage. Both these treatments are deeply relaxing, nurturing & supportive. They can help with energy levels & release tension & stress. So I reckon they are a perfect Valentine’s present.
I can send vouchers out electronically so still plenty of time to get them arranged. Do get in touch through the ‘contact me’ page to arrange.
If you are interested in finding out more about Shiatsu then have a look at the pages on here. I have a Facebook page where I post details of events & offers. You may also want to check out the Shiatsu Society website for more information on Shiatsu.

Shiatsu is a form of hands-on therapy that can leave the client feeling relaxed, improve their energy levels & alleviate stress & tension. It is like a massage but is given through clothes. It is given on a futon mat, on the floor, but can be given on a couch or seated. It works by balancing the energy in the body, relieving symptoms & relaxing the body & mind.
Natural Face Lift massage is a mixture of Japanese & Indian face massage. It includes Shiatsu pressure points & works the neck & shoulders as well as the face. It has a really deep relaxing affect on the whole body & is a great pampering treatment.
I absolutely love how relaxed & chilled people are when they leave after a treatment & is a great present for someone you care about.
Sending love out to you all! x
I use Shiatsu on myself, my husband & children regularly. Not just for relaxation, although it’s great for that. My boys are noisy, energetic & enthusiastic so sometimes it is hard for them to settle at the end of the day. It is a pleasure to give them a Shiatsu & watch them visibly calm down, breathe more deeply & slow down. They often talk to me after a Shiatsu, or we play quietly together. They also sleep well.
I use Shiatsu on myself to help when my mind is racing, I can slow myself down & think more clearly. I use it to help with digestion & menstruation. I have always suffered with painful periods & uncomfortable digestion, I can manage both a lot better with Shiatsu. I also use Shiatsu to support my motivation & mood. I have in the past become stagnant & stuck in a rut but now I cam more adaptable & flexible & can make changes with more ease.
Obviously I am a fan of Shiatsu, I studied it for 3 years, alongside full-time work. I can also pass on tricks & tips that I have learnt to help other people support their health & the health of their family. I often give recommendations at the end of a session, lifestyle & diet options. I also offer ideas of stretches or exercises that may help support their condition, complaint or their well-being.
I can offer longer Shiatsu appointments, at my home practice in Exeter. These can include a full Shiatsu treatment plus guidance on ways to support you & your loved ones.
I’m off to stretch now, to help my circulation & to aid my sleep tonight. xx
I had a really good week last week with all my case study appointments for Natural Face Lift Massage treatments filled.
I am only offering this deal for January & have just a couple of spaces left for appointments on this Tuesday.
The face massage is so deeply relaxing, it affects the whole body & is great me-time.
Do have a look at my Facebook Page & message me for more information.
So very excited to receive a large parcel in the post today.
I was pretty upset when my trusty, but bottom of the range, massage chair broke just before Christmas. I was in the middle of a session of Shiatsus for the hard working staff at my son’s school. I had to give some of the Shiatsus to people whilst they sat on a normal chair. Hardly relaxing, having to support yourself, rather than leaning into a comfy chair.
Since the breakage I have been searching for a replacement. I was close to purchasing a replacement of similar quality to my original when I stumbled across a hardly used, top of the range chair.
I am super happy & have tried it out on my family already. It’s really comfy & easily adjusts to fit any shape or size of client.
So watch out for upcoming events as I will now be giving Shiatsu on this beauty of a chair.
My next event is in Broadclyst, near Exeter – details can be found here

I was invited to speak at a local Fibromyalgia group, to talk about Shiatsu & it’s benefits. I had a great time & it became as much a discussion as a talk.
However it reminded me that Shiatsu can be quiet hard to describe – I found myself saying regularly that its a good idea to try Shiatsu rather than only talking about it – I gave tasters at the end of the talk & they were well received.
I am at an event near Exeter next month & will be offering Shiatsu tasters for £10. Tasters are a great way to get an idea of what Shiatsu massage is.
Details of the event can be found here

It was a cold, dark day in Exeter today but the Shiatsu Shed was warm & cosy.
I really enjoyed giving Shiatsu in out wooden cabin, it’s perfect for a relaxing treatment.
As the wood warms it creates a really pleasing wood smell & feels like a light, warm, tranquil space.
I feel really lucky to be able to work in it, & it’s just a step out of our house.
I offer Shiatsu in the Shiatsu Shed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays.
I’m always happy to talk Shiatsu so do get in touch through the ‘contact me’ page.
